Early Years
The right start to your child’s formal education is extremely important and that it why we try to ensure our Early Years education is outstanding. For more information, please see our Early Years policy which is on our policies page.
Transition to school
Starting school can be nerve-racking for both children and parents which is why we aim for as smooth a transition as possible. Our Reception class teachers will visit your child’s nursery setting or home (if they don’t attend a nursery) to meet with your child and get to know them.
We also have a half day when your child will visit school in small groups so they can become familiar with the classroom and meet some of the other children who will be in their class.
We also have an additional half day when your child will be invited into school to spend the morning or afternoon with their new class.
We will liaise with you and the current education provider to ensure that we are as prepared as possible to meet the needs of your child.
Provision
Our Early Years Department includes both indoor and outdoor provision and great care goes into providing exciting play activities that also develop their physical, creative and academic skills.
Our highly skilled staff use daily assessment to provide activities that both challenge and support learning where appropriate.
Further information can be found in our Early Years Policy.
